Find a way to give our children education
Wednesday, October 16 2013
In the current state the detector metal, cliques, and peer pressure are extreme about things like sex and drugs, it appears that we cannot afford NOT to keep our precious gifts at home.
We have been homeschooling for almost five years now (has it really that long?) And we have found a way to give our kids a fantastic education while not spending their inheritance!
Frugal Homeschooling Ideas
A. library
whether you are homeschooling or not, you probably already know that the library is a wonderful resource. With the advent of internet technology, the library will be better because many borrowers have access to books from all libraries in their area! We are one of them! I am so glad I don't have to go to the other side of the County to borrow a book. Here are some ideas about how you can use the library:
o books on how to start homeschooling
o crafts book
o book for specific grade levels
o find lesson ideas, such as "hermit crab"
B. Online sources
There are hundreds of websites dedicated to crafts, lessons, hands-on experiments, the text on all the subjects for each class. It will take you hours to navigate all of the sites appear only one search! Here's just a small sampling of sites that I use:
DLTK Crafts printable O for children
o A to Z Kids Stuff
o Math Homeschool
o how to create PopUp Card
o Flags Of The World
C. Used Source
There are several ways to purchase books and materials that have been used. The obvious reason is because you can pay a fraction of the cost of new materials. But another reason is that the material used is loved the material. If you can find a homeschool families that sell their resources because they have passed their youngest, you'll be in heaven homeschooling! Here are some places you can find curriculum that is used:
o Sales Curriculum
o buy used
o Thrift Store
o Library Sales (my favorite!)
o garage sales
D. Dollar Store
During back to school time, you can find tons of school supplies for a very good price. This is probably not a name-brand, but you will be able to find the things you need for a nice offer. Just remember to shop sells the advertising and price-shop. Sometimes, the dollar store draws you in with a lot of items, really good price and then "get you" on the other things that are more expensive there than in a regular store. Cheap stuff called "loss leader" and they get your business with the leader losses and keep the door open for other things.
Here are a few dollar store:
o Dollar Tree
o Family Dollar
o Dollar General
E. WalMart books when kids start homeschooling. First, what curriculum to choose. Example go to WalMart to get some large school Zone workbooks. They include all the pre-K through grade 4 or more and pictures of colorful and interesting and very well laid out lessons. By working through many books and you can see how the children enjoy learning, what are the things he knows, what things he doesn't know, and much more. This is a very valuable to you.
F. create your own – you know your child best! Sometimes, there are other people out there are just perfect exactly as you want. Trust your judgment and make some things as you go along. One way we have done this by removing the boards dry erase markers and many different colors. You really want to (almost $ 300 overpriced) the story very expensive bile was founded to teach Bible stories to children in a way that they will remember forever. Instead, you use a dry erase Board and drawing as in reading a book of stories.
G. events and free classes-join local homeschooling groups or watch the paper and fliers in the library for each free event or class in your area. My area using "special education" class. Once every two weeks to one month, they took us through the park with different subjects different in mind. There is usually a craft and hand-cut to go along with what the children are learning about. Everyone had a great time, I met a lot of other ways that homeschoolers and all for free!
H. Homeschool Group-talk about homeschooling groups, not only will they help you stay "in the know" what's happening in your area, sometimes local businesses will offer discounted prices for members of the group. You also
