Children need appropriate curriculum with the development of the intellectual , emotional and physical . Both early years settings develop their curriculum through in depth findings children learn . Early Years Foundation Stage is based around four themes . The first concept that every child is unique and looks at every child to become a competent learner from birth who can be tough , capable , assured and confident . Second , the importance of positive interactions in which children learn how to be strong and independent from the basic relationship of love and safety with a parent or significant person . Third , there must be an enabling environment that plays an important role in supporting and extending children's development and learning . Finally the entire environment in which children develop and learn alternative ways and at different rates and all areas of learning and development are equally important and inter-related . Early years practitioners should recognize the uniqueness of each child and their job is to develop each child's self-esteem by building on what they can do . It must be provided through daily routines , organizational learning environment and techniques that interact with the mature young people with access to excellent quality early years resources .
Children have a natural desire to learn by providing appropriate resources and interactions early in their high quality will be inspired to use their initiative to plan and develop their own strengths and interests . Children need the opportunity to create and express their motives , to generate their own learning experiences and reflect on those experiences . Playing outside gives the possibility for children to use all their senses , experience the magic and charm , to work on a larger scale and enjoy a greater sense of freedom and autonomy . Playing outside is a natural enhancement and extension of the indoor environment and where possible children should be able to choose to play outside at any point. Ideally there should be a flow of play between inside and outside . Playing outside on a regular basis have much more to offer children than indoor activities but there should be careful planning made for the outside environment . Provide the variety of resources for early years outdoor environment is as important as the resources for school space in the room . Commitment , determination , imagination and creativity - from the children , staff and parents - can turn even the most boring area in a rich environment for children to explore and enjoy .
The curriculum for the early years should include a lot of possibilities for practical first hand experience . It is important to prioritize and dedicate planning time to ensure that children have access to high -quality experience and in particular to have a high quality resource available earlier in the year . Children should be able to take advantage of the early sources to use all of their senses and begin to understand their environment and the world around them . They should be happy to try things , to explore and experiment and learn from their own mistakes . Time spent researching critical areas will have a big effect on the education and learning of young children .
